Muscat – Richwood Antiques, the antique furniture company that began operations in the sultanate last year, has launched a new website www.richwoodantiques.com, to showcase its latest European collection.
According to a press release, Rosemary Whelan, owner and consultant of Richwood Antiques, spent several months in making a website reflecting the uniqueness of her antique furniture, which was hand-picked during her travels to Europe.
“It has been a very busy few months for me. I have had a lot of feedback from customers and collectors here, and I have based the collection on their preferences and pieces that really stood out to me.
“In the meantime, I was working with Muscat International Technologies (MIT) to build a website that will give people an idea about how they could display the pieces in their own homes,” said Rosemary.
“The website is very detailed. I want people to see all our pieces. Many of them are so large, and the website provides an online showroom where people can browse at their own ease, look at dimensions and get a feel of the history associated with each piece before they come to look at it and discuss,” Rosemary said.
Richwood Antiques opened in November 2011 with an exhibition at Bait al Zubair. The collection features pieces from Ireland and London and includes designer pieces.
Some of the pieces, made from a wide variety of timber like mahogany, oak, rosewood, satinwood and walnut, are as old as 150 years, according to the release.
